What Is GreenBux?
GreenBux is a new way to be rewarded for buying sustainably. Our system rewards customers on EVERY purchase, with points calculated by the sustainability score of each and every product.
To put it simply, the more sustainable certifications and eco-friendly attributes a product has, the more points you earn.
How Do I Enroll?
Enrollment in the GreenBux program is automatic! All you need is a free Emerald membership account and you’ll begin earning points on every single purchase.
How Are Points Calculated?
GreenBux points are calculated by adding up all of the assigned attributes and certifications, or, “Badges” and applying the total to each individual product. See example below:

GreenBux Badges:
- Compostable (+50 pts)
- Recyclable (+25 pts)
- BPI Certified (+15 pts)
- TUV / Austria – Industrial (+15)
Total GreenBux points = 105 pts
So, the total number of GreenBux points you can earn on this product is 105 pts. When this product is ordered, the points are applied to your account and you can redeem for cash back on future orders.

TUV / Austria – Home
The TÜV Austria OK compost HOME certification guarantees that products can biodegrade completely in the more variable and cooler conditions of home composting, setting the foundation for several international composting standards and promoting sustainable waste management.
BPI Certified
Indicates that a product meets strict standards set by the Biodegradable Products Institute for biodegradation in industrial compost facilities.
CMA Approved
Products certified by the Compost Manufacturing Alliance are proven to be compostable at participating facilities, including home and community sites.
TUV / Austria – Industrial
This certification verifies that a product meets stringent European standards for compostability. It ensures that the product can biodegrade in an industrial composting facility without leaving harmful residues, thereby supporting responsible waste management practices.
Forestry Stewardship Council
Items sourced from forests that are managed responsibly, ensuring environmental, social, and economic benefits.
Green Seal
Awarded to products that meet rigorous, science-based standards that reduce the environmental impact associated with their life-cycle.
